Afternoon tea at Dinger Benners Hotel, Dingle

Nothing says romantic and special moment like a cute tower tray of tasty treats… and if tea isn’t to your liking, Benners also offer wonderful freshly made cocktails.

Twin seaweed baths at Dingle Wellness, Ballydavid

Step into Irish tradition in an unexpected way. Ireland isn’t just Guinness and traditional music. Coastal residents have long known the benefits of seaweed for your skin and you won’t believe the results. Ask about the “twin bath” experience to share this special moment with your partner. Private sauna at Atlantic Bay Rest, Ballyferriter
Hot outdoor beach shower

You can’t get much more private and romantic than booking a private sauna at Atlantic Bay Rest. What could be more ideal than a sauna perched on top of the cliff above a private beach with a hot outdoor shower half way down the cliff? You can swim in the sea, warm up in the sauna, repeat, and finish off with a hot outdoor shower with a view… The sauna is 100% privatised but accommodation guests may potentially use the beach. Booking is essential (via WhatsApp ideally at +353871037031).

Self driving funky pink boat tours, Dingle Bay

Head to Dingle Boat Tours and enquire about their “funky pink boats” to hire yourself a mini boat and head around Dingle Bay for an hour (seasonal). More information on their website here.

Watch the sunset, Dunquin

West coast of Ireland means wonderful sunsets but not from just anywhere. These are a few great locations from easiest to hardest (the most hiking)…

  • Ryan’s Daughter schoolhouse: park at the Blasket Centre, walk to the viewing platform (approx 5 minutes on an easy gravel path on flat ground) and you could stop there, or keep going to the ruins for a more private location (another 10 minutes)
  • Ceann Sibeal / Sybill Head: approx 30 min hike
  • Cruach Mharthain: park at the antenna (GoogleMaps link here) and hike 30 minutes up, and come the same way down. Wear good shoes, bring a light and your stamina as the incline is not for the faint of heart.
