When exploring the Dingle Peninsula, there is no lack of wonderful places to eat at. And this list is not exhaustive by any means but they are some of my favorite places to eat in Dingle and around Slea Head.
I hope you will find this list of some of the best places to eat in Dingle helpful. Locals rave about these so there’s no reason the keep them a secret…
I know vegans can find it hard to find good places to eat during their travels so if you ever wondered where to find vegan (friendly) places to eat in Dingle, I got you… Keep reading.
For the Seafood Lovers
Out of the Blue

Open for dinner only and wonderful varied dishes available. If you crave something a little different from the sample meals you typically find around Ireland, Out of the Blue will be perfect for you. They do also serve the basics, like seafood chowder and fish and chips, of course, and excel at them too! Booking usually essential.
The Fish Box
The Fish Box is a staple of Dingle town and is well known throughout Ireland. You’ll probably have to wait for a table in high season but the food is worth the wait. They have a vegan option on the menu.
To impress your tastebuds
Doyle’s
If you want to eat somewhere that serves food that feels a little more upscale, Doyle’s has you covered. Delicious meals beautifully delivered on the plate. They cater to vegans if you ask.
Sola’s
A little hidden gem hidden serving small plates. This is the perfect place if you’re either not too hungry or want to try lots of different things. The food is absolutely wonderful. They were even mentioned in the Michelin guide 2025. Vegan friendly. Bookings usually essential.
For the vegans and vegetarians
Benner’s
While Benner’s isn’t a vegan restaurant at all, they offer a selection of elaborate vegan appetisers and vegan dishes (and vegan desserts!) on a separate menu, so it’s perfect if you are sick of being served curries on your travels.
And if you aren’t traveling with vegan/vegetarian friends, they will be sure to find something delicious from the main menu. The food and presentation is upscale.
Blue Zone
French owned Blue Zone is one of the quirkiest restaurants in Dingle. They serve only salads or pizzas as a main. But it is probably one of the best pizza you’ll ever have in your life. The pizzas aren’t marked as vegan but two of them can be made vegan upon request by switching to vegan cheese. The chocolate coconut tart and champagne sorbet on the desserts menu are also vegan! Great wine selection for those who enjoy a glass with dinner.
Come for the atmosphere and leave with a happy belly! Open for dinner only.
Puca
This cute cafe serves breakfast and lunch in the most wonderful stone house with a lovely wild garden at the back. You can see the kitchen from your table so it’s really like eating at a friend’s if your friend is a wonderful cook and makes the most mouthwatering desserts. This is vegan and vegetarian only. And if they have the almond croissant cake when you visit, bring me a piece, thanks 🙂
Nourish
Very cute cafe with friendly staff. It’s tucked into a courtyard under the most enchanting stone tunnel and the coffee and food is simply delicious. They sell a chickpea sandwich and some vegan desserts depending what’s available on the day.
For the desserts
Ealu at the Stonehouse

Don’t get me wrong, the mains are delicious and oh so flavourful. But you’ll likely be most impressed by the desserts.
You can order an eye deceiving dessert that looks like a real lemon or a real pear… and I won’t spoil the surprise for what you will really find inside.
It’s a little out of the way but so worth the drive for the food, the landscape of the Slea Head drive, and, last but not least, for the location which is inside a historical stone house. Yes, even the roof! Don’t skip this!
P.S. They also make delicious pralines.
Murphy’s Ice cream
Originally from Dingle, this little ice cream shop has become big with several stores across the county and expanding. Try the brown bread or Dingle gin if you dare to be wonderfully surprised. Vegan sorbet flavours available (including cones).
Bakeries
Bean in Dingle
Bean in Dingle is mostly known for their coffee but they also source great desserts. You can takeaway or sit in to relax in the trendy interior while you enjoy your drink/treat.
Courtney’s Bakery
A little hidden tucked away in Dick Mack’s Yard but well worth taking the time to find as to treat yourself to a sweet deliciousness.
Bakery Eile
This charming place on the Slea Head drive just before Ventry offers wonderful baked goods and great bread. It isn’t always open in low season so check ahead or find her at a local market/shop. Vegan available.
For takeaway
Reel Dingle Fish
Takeaway only. It’s a tiny shop across from the Garda station that is well loved amongst locals for its fish and chips.
The Fish Box Food Truck
The Fish Box’s Food Truck is a little hidden in Paddy Bawn’s courtyard next to SuperValu and open seasonally (April – early October). But it’s a great place for a fish and chips or some other basic staples of typical takeaway seafood dishes.
The plus side is that there are outdoor tables so you can take your meal home, walk it to the picnic tables at the marina, or enjoy it right there in the Courtyard!

In Ballyferriter
Kane’s pub
Step inside this beautiful wooden pub for drink and a bite. They even serve pizza. Not ideal for vegans.
Tigh an tSaorsaigh
This intimate pub is the oldest in Ballyferriter. If you want to eat pub food in a great atmosphere, this is the place. The toastie comes highly recommended! Vegan option possible sometimes if “Pablo” has what he needs.
Murphy’s pub
Murphy’s would be the most reliable place to grab some food in Ballyferriter village during the winter time as well and they have a vegan burger option for whoever needs it. While you wait, you can play a game of pool. Last call at 20:30 at the time of writing.
Special mentions
Benner’s

I had to mention Benner’s again because they offer a wonderful afternoon tea for you and your friends to share and delight in an array of baked goods and desserts. It’s well worth checking out when in Dingle!
Doesn’t that look delicious?
Bon appetit!
